BIO:

Deborah sings from her heart and soul. Her high energy swing, cool bossa and sultry ballads are a beautiful blend of clear, crisp vocal excellence and high quality musicianship. She delights audiences with her original styling on Jazz and Blues classics as well as her own original compositions.

 

Originally from New England, she studied music and drama at Rhode Island College and with a vocal coach from Berklee College of Music. In addition, she participated in numerous workshops and performances in local theater throughout Rhode Island as well as being a very active performer in the Jazz scene in RI, performing in her own band, with numerous alumni and teachers from Berklee and RI colleges. After years of traveling and performing throughout the US, Deborah has settled in South Florida for the past several years. She was a board member for the Swing and Jazz Preservation Society of Palm Beach, and performed in concert for them with Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band. Deborah can be seen performing in a duo, trio, quartet or quintet format performing in Florida and New England in various venues including clubs, restaurants and art galleries, as well as for many local social, political and charitable events.

 

Her ongoing performing and writing partnership with the incomparable and always exciting Ken Burkhart, on piano and back-up vocals, pleases audiences every time. One of this partnerships special gifts is the incredible blending of their voices on very original duets, which have become some of their most requested songs.
